We’re into the final few months of 2026, but before you start thinking about next year, there’s still an awful lot of business to be had this year.
Customers are still spending and they’re still looking for local businesses to spend their money with.
From home improvements and repairs to eating out, booking appointments and organising events, there’s still plenty of business to be had and plenty of people happy to discover a great local business they haven’t used before!
What could your business STILL achieve before 2026 is over?
There are still weeks of potential enquiries, bookings and sales ahead…here are a few ways to make the most of them.
1. Look at what your customers need now
Your customers priorities change throughout the year, so take another look at what you’re promoting…
- What problems are they dealing with right now?
- What jobs are they putting off?
- What appointments might they need?
- What could they be planning for the next few months?
You might have a product or service that’s perfect for them right now…but have you actually reminded them about it?
Don’t assume people know everything your business offers…tell them!
2. Go back to people who already know you
Not every new sale needs to come from a brand-new customer.
Think about previous customers, old enquiries and people who have shown an interest in your business but never quite took the next step…
- Could you follow up?
- Could you remind previous customers about another service?
- Could you simply pop back into their inbox and remind them you’re still there?
Sometimes the easiest opportunities are sitting much closer than you think.
3. Don’t rely on ONE way of getting customers
If the majority of your marketing relies on one platform, you’re putting an awful lot of faith in one place.
Social media is fantastic…but not everybody will see every post you publish.
Email can work brilliantly…but you need people on your database first.
Google can help people find you…but often they’re already searching for what they need.
Networking, referrals, social media, email, your website and printed advertising can all work together.
The more places people come across your business, the more familiar your name becomes and when they eventually need what you sell…you’ve got a much better chance of being the business they remember.
4. Keep putting your name out there
Marketing rarely works because somebody sees your business once. It works because they see you…then they see you again and again and your name becomes familiar then they start to recognise your business…
Eventually, when they need what you sell, they think of you….we call it the drip-feeding effect.
You might not know exactly which advert, social post, recommendation, Google search or conversation finally prompts someone to contact you.
That’s why staying visible matters.
5. Ask yourself one simple question…
What would ONE more good customer be worth to your business this year?
£50?
£500?
£5,000?
And what if that customer comes back again or recommends you to someone else?
Marketing is an investment in creating more opportunities for people to discover and choose your business.
You don’t necessarily need hundreds of new customers for that investment to pay off. For some businesses, one really good customer could make all the difference.
There’s still plenty of 2026 left…so don’t write the year off yet..there are still customers to find…enquiries to generate…bookings to take…sales to make…and plenty of local people who might need exactly what your business offers…
They just need to know you’re there!
