We are due to be in LC in August, and if not too hot are thinking of doing some beginners mountain biking. The last MTB comments were quite a while ago, has anybody done any more recently, and have any good tips for beginners, routes, places to hire, cost of hire etc. etc.?
Cheers - Dave |

Hi Dave.
There are plenty of routes and options available.
LC has two main places to hire, and the place opposite the ski school office organise lessons, guides, trips and bike hire.
The place below the Monchu have hire bikes.
Personally I think les Arc is better marked out... but you’ll need bike racks or to hire in bourg (or up in the mountain).
LC alternate the days the lift is open with Montchavin...
We bike most days, it’s a great way to keep cool.
For a very easy ride. The path from Landry (Whitewater rafting centre) to lake Macot is great. And the kids get to swim in the lake at the end of a very easy ride. There is a vertical descent from LC to Macot. But this is not for the faint hearted.
When are you out there?
