In an attempt to entice posters out of the CdW Owners area I'm offering to answer any questions folk might have about Les Coches/Montchavin and the Paradiski.
Ask away and let's see where it leads. |

Hi Gravy
Thanks for offering to share your local knowledge I am sure you will be inundated!
Do you know if the Telebuffette lift and the lift down to Montchavin from La Noir into Montchavin run into the evenings and if so until what sort of time?

I'm afraid there is no sign of this happening. I will speak to Sebastian from World Ski next time I see him about this. He is the new mayor's cousin and talked about this happening at the end of last season. It would make perfect sense apart from the fact that Telebuffette is hardly accessible to walkers where it is positioned. The only use for the 1m Euro spent on it is to get beginners up and down to their Evolution 2 lessons. It is IMHO a complete white elephant whilst we wait another two seasons for Verdon Sud lift to be replaced!!!!! Next seasons lift project is the re-vamp of the Plagne 1800- Plagne Soleil system.
The bus is running up the CdW side of Les Coches this season 5x a day stopping at Observatoire and Orgere. I don't know if it is willing to stop outside CdW. If not I'd lobby for it to do so. |

Thanks very much for the update.
As you say it does seem an expensive way of getting not very far and you would think that it would be in the interests of the bars and restaurants in both Les Coches and Montchavin to make access easier in the evenings.... we will wait and see, keep us posted. Who would we lobby about the bus stopping outside CDW?

La Grange should be talking to the mayor's office in Bellentre about improving this type of facility. The word has always been that Telebuffette came about because of CdW. I remember some prospective owners thinking it would link CdW into the piste system which I never thought was a realistic possibility.
A better bus service and the bubbles running into the night should be a must for the future. |

Thanks Gravystuffing for all the info.
Altho we never expected the Telebuffette to link to CdW we were informed in January 2005 when we first viewed the site that there was a good possibility of a ski link directly back to CdW which would have made it ski-in. I think this must have just been a very big carrot to make the location more appealing!
However, in spite of the Telebuffette's location, like Emma we think it would be great if it were to stay open into the evenings linking Les Coches with Montchavin and its many restaurants. Otherwise it does seem an extreme waste of money and totally unneccessary. _________________ Martyn and Debs |
